NMAAHC Onboarding Client: NMAAHC Date: January 19, 2017 Services: Mobile Application Design Over the past 6 months I have been working on the National Museum of African American History and Culture’s mobile application. Most recently, I have been tasked with designing the onboarding experience. After receiving feedback from the client and peers on the approach forward, I revised my initial designs to create a final style that best suits the application. I will be animating these screens for the mobile app through the end of January 2017 and they should be added to the app via update by the end of February 2017. These are the initial sketches from the first round of onboarding designs. These are initial high fidelity pages for the onboarding experience. This is one of the potential animations for the transition from one onboarding screen to another. After receiving feedback from the client, I decided to take a different approach. These sketches helped flesh out the new direction. These are the updated mock ups for the onboarding experience. This is a more literal approach that makes the applications features more clear to the users. This is the explore animation. It shows the hierarchy of the content a user will experience within the application. This is the reaction animation. It shows how users can react to stories that they read. This is the larger text animation. It shows how a user may increase the text size for readability. This is the share animation. It shows how users can share a given story that they read.
