In3 Client: Clearly Innovative Website: in3dc.com Date: October 10, 2016 Services: Logo Design In this project I was asked to create a logo for Washington, DC’s first community space dedicated to inclusion innovation and incubation. The workspace is called In3 (Inclusive Innovation Incubator). The goal was to create a logo that felt inviting. What initially began with an attempt to create an open door in combination with the characters ‘i’, ‘n’, and ‘3’, transformed into two logos: one solid version and one line version. This logo is now in use at in3dc.com and will be used when the workspace opens in early 2017. These are the initial sketches for the ideation phase of the logo design. These are some high fidelity designs based on the ideation phase. These are the four finalists that were reviewed by the project team. Ultimately, the choice was mark number three, which features a light blue gradient along with a subtle metallic texture. In order to make sure the mark would look nice on web, the lead designer (my direct supervisor) updated the mark by adding a white outline so that it would sit nicely on the web and, in particular, on top of images.
