Bart Hess Date: November 16, 2017 Category Theory Topic Technology & The Body Bart Hess is a designer whose work is about mutating and understanding the human form. Hess sees the human body as a platform for interaction. While Hess works with many different types of materials he has also experimented with the digital world. Hess is also interested in smart textiles and how they will interact with the body. “in which technology melds body and object… when we don the materials and applications that Hess has created, we are transformed into a new but completely logical creature.” I believe that smart textiles would be an interesting way to approach my topic of future objects of protest. It would also be an opportunity to apply my technical knowhow to a physical product, which is one of my goals of the course.
